WILL COOPERATE ON THE EMPOWERMENT THE NATIONAL CERTIFICATION ORGANIZATION
On June 18, 2025, a meeting of stakeholders was held at the UN Headquarters to exchange views on the implementation of the White Gold Movement initiated by the President of Mongolia and Resolution No. 63 of the Parliament, in order to support the certification of products and production processes in relation to the origin and quality traceability of raw materials and products, and the increase in the production of environmentally friendly, animal-friendly, and certified products.
In the meeting, Improving adaptive capacity and risk management of rural communities in Mongolia (ADAPT) project, Presidential office, White gold platform, Mongolian wool and cashmere association, the national biggest textile producers such as Gobi Corporation, Cashmere Holding LLC, Khanbogd Cashmere LLC, Baylag Ulzii LLC, Snow Fields LLC were participated. The meeting discussed the issues of market expansion, including standards, certification, the introduction of international GoTs standards, and how to implement and collaborate on standard projects to accredit domestic accredited certification bodies as international certification bodies.
During this event, the Certification body of the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association gave a presentation on the topic of ‘Conformity Assessment and Accredited Certification’, presenting the current status of certification in the Mongolian textile sector, future work plans, and measures to be taken.
In addition, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and the participants of the meeting requested to cooperate in strengthening the accredited certification body under the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, supporting it in obtaining international accreditation, and promoting the Mongolian Noble Fibre MNS 6809:2019 product quality standard and the Sustainable Textile Production MNS 6926:2021 standards internationally.
From the above meeting, it was agreed to join forces to strengthen the certification service of the textile sector under the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, to centralize international certification-related activities and work together through an integrated management system, and to hold a meeting related to international accreditation and a detailed work plan in the near future.
