THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN RELATIONS BATSETSEG.B HAS RECEIVED THE REPRESENTATION OF THE WOOL AND CASHMERE INDUSTRY.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Battsetseg.B, met with the administrations of the Mongolian Wool Cashmere Association and representatives of the industry on 29th November, 2024.
In the meeting, Enkhbold.V, consultant of the foreign relations, economy and collaboration department of the MFA, Dondogdorj.M, head of the light industry policy implementation department of MOFALI, Altantsetseg.D, Executive director of Mongolian wool and cashmere association, Munkhjargal.S, Director of Cashmere Holding LLC and Gan-Ulzii.Ts, Director of Snow Fields LLC.
In her speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs Battsetseg.B, emphasized on the cooperation of the relevant government in bringing Mongolian cashmere to the international market and providing all kinds of support and assistance to participate in international meetings, conferences and exhibitions through Mongolian diplomatic missions and honorary consuls.
In frame of the “White Gold” movement initiated by the President of Mongolia, he expressed that he will focus on promoting Mongolian cashmere products in European and Central Asian countries, connecting major buyers, partners and projects that solve industry problems with international funds, and increasing sales.
Registration of the Geographical Indication/GI/ in the European Union with the aim of bringing wool and cashmere products that meet the requirements of Mongolian quality standards to the international market, and to create the special characteristics, identification and differentiation of Mongolian cashmere. Therefore, exchange of views on the development of geographical indications and trademark documents, domestic and foreign registration, production of prototypes, marketing work, and the progress of the work being done by the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association. Also, in the near future, will meet with the administrations of the companies in the industry to inform them about the potential of the foreign market.
