
PROJECT TO SUPPORT YOUTH EMPLOYMENT WILL IMPLEMENT IN CASHMERE INDUSTRY
Today, the “Youth Employment Support” project of the international Labor Organization of the United Nations with the funding of Government of the Republic of Korea has been launched which aims to find solutions to bridge cultural gaps between employers and young employees and improve cooperation between employers and employees, and working to increase the skills and technical and vocational education of young people working in the Mongolian cashmere sector, and to improve the knowledge of graduates of educational institutions.
The project will implement from July 2024 until December 2026 which is targeting employers and young workers in the cashmere and hospitality sectors with the stakeholders of Ministry of family, labor and social protection, Ministry of food, agriculture and light industry, employer and employee organizations, Mongolian wool and cashmere association, Mongolian industrial trade union federation, training organizations and from Korean side, Korean labor and employment service (KLES), Korean labor information service.
In the launch event, Chang-Hee Lee, Director, ILO country office for China and Mongolia, Munkhzul.L, Secretariat of Ministry of family, labor and social protection, Hochul Shin, Chief technical advisor of International labor organization are gave a opening speech. Therefore, Bayarmaa.Ts, Head of the employment department of Ministry of family, labor and social protection, Javzandulam.M, national coordinator of Youth employment support project, Tamir.E, Head of the Mongolian industrial trade union federation and Altantsetseg.D, Executive director of Mongolian wool and cashmere association are presented about the project introduction, a comparative study of youth employment, youth employment in the cashmere industry, and a detailed presentation of the cashmere industry.
Further, the project will analyze youth employment issues, disseminate tools to improve human resource policies, productivity, and workplace management, develop employment policies and programs based on the needs of job seekers, and strengthen institutional capacity. And during the project implementation period, many activities to support Mongolia’s economic growth and increase employment will be implemented in phases in the economically important cashmere sector, and good practices from the Republic of Korea will be introduced.
