CASHMERE INDUSTRY PARTICIPATED IN MILAN FASHION WEEK
Italian Milan fashion week has been organized between 25th February until 2nd of March. Milan Fashion Week is one of the top five shows in the world and is a major event held twice a year. This Fashion Hub project was unique in that it provided many opportunities to create global fashion trends, develop designers’ skills, exchange experiences, and meet fashion consultants and designers.
At Milan Fashion Week, the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association (MWCA) organized the event and represented Mongolia under the GoMongolia brand concept, with Top Donj, Khanbogd Cashmere, Snow Fields, Goyol Cashmere, and Negun Cashmere presenting their fall/winter women’s clothing collections. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia was the general sponsor of the event, and the ITDM project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry participated as sponsors.
The opening ceremony of the “GoMongolia” space, Bat-Erdene.J, Member of Parliament and President of MWCA, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador from Mongolia to Italy Mrs Narantungalag.Ts, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador from Italy to Mongolia Mrs Giovanna Piccaretta are participated therefore Italian fashion magazine Vogue and other relative press agencies, influencers, designer, buyers, owners of the Milan boutiques are invited introduced with the features, advantages, differences, and creations of designers who created Mongolian cashmere.
In the third day of Fashion Hub, Mongolian designers are participated in the panel discussions with the Orietta Pelizzari, the Italian fashion trend advisor and discussed on the topic of “Cashmere as a growing market among younger consumer: authentic, colorful and long lasting” and gave information about the Mongolian cashmere.
In frame of the event, the delegations of Mongolia worked in Milan, Rome, Biella cities of Italy organized a meeting with Textile equipment manufacturer association (ACIMIT), Italian Development Bank (CDP), Italian investment credit agency (SACE), Textile training and research institute (MAGNOLAB INSTITUTE) to discuss about the further collaboration of two countries on the textile sector, to localize the Italian advanced, green spinning equipment in Mongolia to produce from the primary processing until the finished product.
Therefore, participated some companies made a contact with Italian showroom and made a contract with Boutique for the collaboration. Also, the companies emphasized that this Milan Fashion Week provided Mongolian designers with an opportunity to showcase their brands on the international stage, improve their skills, exchange experiences, and collaborate, and expressed their desire to participate regularly in the future.
