Training organized to certify organic production

Altantsetseg.S, Senior Specialist of the Standard Conformity Assessment and Certification Service of the Department of Standardization and Metrology, organized a capacity-building training on the topics of “Conformity Assessment System”, “Technical Regulation”, and “Organic Production” for experts of the Certification Service under the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association on July 7, 2025.
The training provided a detailed introduction to the legal basis of standardization, technical regulation, and conformity assessment accreditation, how to ensure the quality and safety of products, services, and management systems that are mandatory for conformity assessment under Government Resolution No. 291.
In addition, technical regulations that are mandatory for ensuring human health, the environment, product and industrial safety, and public interest, as specified in Article 4.1.3 of the Law on Standardization, Technical Regulation and Conformity Assessment Accreditation, and at the request of the producer, information was provided on organic certification, which combines traditional methods, biological and mechanical methods and technologies aimed at the rational use of resources, the balance of ecosystems and the preservation of biological diversity at all stages of transition and organic production.
The Organic Products Law was revised and enacted on January 17, 2024 to regulate relations related to the production, processing, certification, registration, use of organic labels, advertising, and sale of organic products, as well as government support and incentives for organic producers. Accordingly, the Organic Law, which came into effect on January 1, 2025, requires that the words “organic”, “naturally pure”, “naturally derived pure”, “eco”, “green”, “ecologically derived”, “ecologically pure”, “ecological”, “bio”, “biological”, “biologically derived”, “biologically pure” be written on product labels in Mongolian and foreign languages. Therefore, it was emphasized that words equivalent to these in content should not be used without organic product certification, and that violations of the law will be subject to liability under the Law on Violations.
