2025 CHINA-MONGOLAN CASHMERE FORUM SUCCESSFULLY HELD

On July 29-30, 2025, the annual “CASHMERE Forum” organized by the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association and the China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuff, Native produce and Animal by-products (CFNA) was successfully held in Ningbo, China, with the participation of 50 Chinese companies and more than 30 Mongolian companies.

At the opening ceremony of the CASHMERE Forum, Cao Derong, President of the China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuff, Native produce and Animal by-products (CFNA), Tuya.Ts, General Manager of the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, Jian Qingyun, President of Zhejiang SHIJIA Cashmere Factory, and Xue Jingli, President of CONSINEE Group delivered opening speeches.

From the Mongolian side, the current status of the cashmere sector, the challenges that are facing, and the implementation of the “White Gold” program, from the Chinese side introduced the development of a quality and standard manual for Mongolian dehaired cashmere, and introduced a comparison of cashmere products in the consumer market over the past 5 years, marketing measures being implemented in the cashmere industry, and the smart digital system introduced in the cashmere industry. Moreover, a roundtable discussion was held to exchange views on how to promote cashmere in the international market, collaborate to secure a valuable position for cashmere in the knitted and woven clothing market, and work to solve the problems facing the cashmere industry.

This forum was sponsored by CONSINEE Group, a Chinese yarn and fabric manufacturer, and was unique in that it introduced Mongolian delegates to CONSINEE Group’s digital spinning mill and warehouse operations and provided them with the opportunity to learn from their experiences.

In the future, Mongolia will be able to supply combed cashmere that meets quality standards to Chinese factories without intermediaries, as Mongolia has issued technical regulations for the processing and trade of goat cashmere, thereby connecting manufacturers from both countries for mutual benefit. They discussed and agreed to establish a Mongolian cashmere boutique in a major Chinese city and to jointly organize the “International Cashmere Forum” of cashmere-producing and consuming countries in 2026.
